As a teacher, you know that your productivity is the most important factor in your students’ performance. You want technology that will help you make the most effective use of the time you spend in the computer lab. The Teacher’s AIDE™ Computer Supervisory System (CSS) puts the tools you need to maximize your personal instructional productivity right at your fingertips.
Before your students even walk in the door, your time savings begin. With a click of the mouse at your PC, you can use the CSS Wizard™ to start the software programs the students will be using or find the website you want them to see. You will realize more time on task if you eliminate the time spent waiting for each student to find icons, start programs, and load websites.
More time is often wasted as you wait for students to shift focus to the task at hand. Distractions from other parts of the room or alternate sources of information compete for their attention. To eliminate these delays, Teacher’s AIDE™ gives you instantaneous control over the student PC’s. Darken your students’ monitors to get their attention while you give instructions or introduce the day’s lesson. To demonstrate an exercise, broadcast your PC to the class while you work through the problem step by step. Demonstrate applications by broadcasting them directly to the student monitors. Or attach a multi-media device to broadcast DVD’s, CD’s or other audio/visual content.
To further focus your students’ attention, use the flexible presentation tools included in Teacher’s AIDE™. During your demonstrations you can mark important points by drawing circles or arrows on the screen. Or use a digital magnifying glass to zoom in on interesting detail. To truly block out distractions (and save your voice!), use the microphone and headset functions to speak to the class while reducing outside noise. By keeping the students focused on the task at hand, you have control over their attention at all times.
When finished with your instructions to the entire class, release the student PC’s from your broadcast and allow the students some individual practice time. To provide individual instruction, monitor a student’s progress by accessing his computer screen through your own PC and observing his work. With the use of microphones and headsets, you can speak privately with the student as you provide help and answer questions immediately as he works through the material. If you see him making a mistake that others might share, broadcast his screen to the entire class, clarify the point, then release the student PC’s once again.
Want to individualize instruction to groups of students within your class? With Teacher’s AIDE™, you can broadcast a tutorial from your Teacher PC to one group of students, while the other students operate independently. Your productivity soars when you can pinpoint the exact information and instruction needed for each individual or group. And, when it’s time to change each group’s activity, you’ll find that control is right on your desktop.
The result of teaching with Teacher’s AIDE™; higher instructional productivity for you and higher performance for your students!
