    Since Septempber 2010, the 1G products have been built and shipped with the Just Add Power V.92 firmware that solved the memory leak that limited 1G Transmitters to about 8 screens at a time.  The programming needed to support 200+ screens required that the IR function be removed from the firmware.  Users with installations having less than 8 screens may prefer to use this original V.90 firmware to enable the IR ports.  The same restrictiosn apply to the IR ports as always - the first attached Receiver is the only station that can send IR commands back to the Transmitter.  The instructions included with the ZIP file are written towards the V.92 firmware installation, but the process is the same to install V.90.  We also include instructions on how to set the IP addresses on the 1G TX/RX (can be done with V.90 or V.92 devices).

    If you have been using any of the BETA firmware on your Just Add Power 2G devices it is vital that you "downgrade" your Receivers to the JAP-2G-RX-A1-35-FIRMWARE.bin firmware before attempting to install the production version of A3.00C.  This is only necessary for the Receivers, not for the Transmitters.  The A1.35 Receiver firmware is included in the same zip file that holds the A3.00C production firmware.

    2)      Show the current device MAC address

    3)      Automatically generate a new MAC address

    4)      Manually set the MAC address

    There are 2 Tools in this package - EDID Update and EDID Erase.
    With the EDID Update program you can modify a 2G Transmitter to have a fixed EDID setting of your own choice.  With the EDID Erase program you can remove any EDID that you installed with EDID Update.   We've included some sample "standard" EDID's we use for testing problem sources.  Used in conjuction with a tool like http://www.entechtaiwan.com/util/moninfo.shtm , you can try to create your own custom EDID file to support a problematic source.
     
    The process is quick and easy to do
     
    1. Disconnect any HDMI cables from the Transmitters.
    2. Connect the Transmitter to your PC LAN port with a CATx cable (does not require a crossover cable.
    3. Power-cycle the Transmitter and let it complete the Power On Self Test (a few seconds)
    4. Run the program (give it firewall permissions if you are asked to do so)
    5. If using EDID Update, click LOAD and choose the EDID file you want to try.
    5. Click SEARCH to find the Transmitter
    6. Click GO to start the EDID Erase process or UPDATE to start the EDID Update process.
    7. Wait for confirmation that it worked
    The most recent version includes DVI EDID files and Multi-Channel Audio EDID files.

    Firmware A1.35 provides an easier to setup GUI for the video wall applications using the 2G devices running a new firmware App.  The new App can accommodate anything from a 2x2 up to an 8x8 video wall, and any just about any combination within that (i.e. 2x4, 1x8, 5x5, 6x2).  This lets Just Add Power dealers provide video walls to sports bars, emergency response centers, super man caves, and digital signage customers, without them having to purchase an expensive video wall processors.

    This download includes step-by-step setup instructions for a Standard Mode 2x2 Video Wall.  Further details and configuration documentation will be added to the 2G Dealer Support Manual.
